Your instructor Ms. Tamura is a well-received student of the goldsmith Morihito Katsura, who was nationally acclaimed as a “living treasure”. Her skills are of a bona-fide veteran! She will help you through every step from designing to finishing, so even beginners can find the result they want.

Itinerary

    • Crafting your Hand Made Ring

First, you will decide on the ring’s design. There are 2 types of ring shapes: a “round” ring will have rounded edges and give a comfortable fit, while the “flat” ring will give a more subtle and elegant impression.
There are 3 types of finishes. Will you go with a polished finish to bring out the metal’s own shine, or a hammered finish for some visual flare? There is also a subtle matte finish, made by sanding down the external polish with garnet powder.
Once you have decided on your design, it’s time to make your ring! The metal used here is a high-purity silver, and the workshop’s specialized tools will help you hammer it to shape.
    • Your Hand Made Ring is Complete!

Once the ring is nicely shaped and the finish applied, your ring is complete! Unlike in a casted silver ring, the hammering process tightens the grains of the material for a greater shine. Above all, a ring designed by your own mind and hands will have a value unlike anything in stores!
The workshop is located in the sparkling downtown of Ginza, Tokyo. Enjoy your new ring as you shop and dine for a fabulous day out!
