  • In between its 21st-century concrete and neons, the Tokyo metropolis tightly holds onto proof of its relatively recent modernization. During this tour, you will have opportunities to explore them up close and inside!
  • During the last portion of the tour, you will be served a 4-piece tasting set of Sake (Japanese rice wine) selected specially by the experts at Sumiyoshi Shuhan. Never had Sake, or never appreciated it? This might be the time to change your mind!

    • Board SKY BUS - Imperial Palace - Ginza - Marunouchi (50minutes)
      The double-decker Sky Bus takes you on a ride through Tokyo’s heart, the Marunouchi Area. Although it might not seem like a big difference, the second-floor view of the Sky Bus gives you a whole new view of Tokyo!
    • Educational tour Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum (10minutes)
      This building was born from the mind of British Architect Josiah Conder, during Meiji Japan’s rapid turn to the West.
      It is said to be the first piece of Western architecture in Japan, and its aesthetic and heritage have been meticulously preserved even after its reconstruction in 2010. Inside its brick walls, some parts of the building remain unchanged since its initial construction.
    • Educational tour Meiji Seimeikan (15minutes)
      Among the many western-style buildings built in the post-Meiji era, the Meiji Seimeikan building is widely considered to be the pinnacle. 
      Its outer walls are lined powerfully with Greek-style pillars and mediterranean motifs, and the floors are made by marble. In the post-war era, it was taken over by the Allied Powers as a command post of the GHQ (General Headquarters). 
    • Educational tour Imperial Hotel Tokyo (20minutes)
      To cater to Japan’s increasing western audience, the Imperial Hotel was constructed in 1890 as Japan’s first modern “hotel”. 
      To this day, it is among Japan’s most prestigious and luxurious accommodations, and a symbol of Japan’s Meiji-era westernization. 
    • Experience Sumiyoshi Shuhan (40minutes)
      This Japanese Sake specialty store opens its doors in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. 
      The employees are all experts and professionals. They will give you a short crash-course on the history and typologies of Sake, before serving you a selected 4-piece set of different Sakes. A seasonal side dish to complement the Sake will also be served!
      For an extra 1000 yen, you can opt for a higher grade of Sake, and receive 4 different side-dishes to enhance your experience with all 4 glasses.

    • For an extra 1000 yen, you can upgrade your tasting experience! You will be served a higher grade of the Sake itself, as well as 4 different seasonal pairing dishes to complement all 4 glasses of Sake. If you want to enhance your introduction to Sake, this may be the option for you!

・If there are not enough participants for a tour, we will have to cancel the trip.
・In the case of a cancellation, we will contact you with at least 4 days to your trip.

Changing booking details
・Please check the trip documents to see changes regarding fees when changing trip plans.
・If you cancel due to personal reasons and the trip goes under the required participant number, you will be charged a cancellation fee based on the cancellation policies.
・If the trip gets full, we will not be able to accept more participants.
