Kiyotsu Gorge
Kiyotsu Gorge
Kiyotsu Gorge locates in the city of Tokamachi in Niigata prefecture. The gorge is a part of Joshinetsu-kogen National Park, and is known as one of Japan’s Three Major Gorges. The gorge is shaped in a unique V shape, with the Kiyotsu River running through it. In the fall, the leaves in the canyon change colors, and create a stunning view. Right by the gorge, you can find the 750-meter long Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel. In the tunnel are three spots with different, beautiful views of the gorge. From the panorama station inside the tunnel, there is a pool of fresh spring water. The view of the gorge reflects on the water and creates a breathtaking view. In the building by the tunnel, you can find a café and a footbath facility. Come here after a day of exploring Kiyotsu Gorge.
