The House of Light locates in the city of Tokamachi in Niigata prefecture. The building itself is a work of art, and was made by James Turrell in 2000 for the Echigo Tsumari Art Triennale. The concept of the building is to incorporate the use of light and space as main subject. Visitors can book to stay at the House of Light overnight. The roof of the House of Light is made so it could slide open and close. You can lie down on the floor and watch the skies change as the sun sets. The House of Light’s bath walls are filled with fiber optic, allowing for a relaxing bathing experience. To book a night at the House of Light, visit their official website.
