Yatsuo, located in Toyama City of southern west Toyama Prefecture, is a town that keeps the layouts from the Edo period. This area focuses on the unity of the house shape and color as well as the stone pavements and lack of electric wires. Yatsuo was chosen as one of Japan’s top 100 streets in 1986. Aside from the town area, the “Yatsuo Hikiyama Exhibition” is also a sight to see. The exhibition displays the gorgeous Hikiyama in 3 different exhibitions. On every second and fourth Saturday, the Exhibition hall holds a “Kaze-no-Bon-Festival Stage”, where you can experience the activities of the “Owara Kaze-no-Bon Festival”. The “Owara Kaze-no-Bon Festival” of Yatsuo district has been going on for over 300 years. This traditional event takes place every year from September 1st to the 3rd. Every year, over 200,000 people from all over Japan come to participate. Immerse yourself into a fantastic world of music, dancing, and history.
