Toretore Ichiba is located in Shirahamach, Nishimurogun, the southwest area of Wakayama Prefectuere. It is operated by a fisheries cooperative association and is one of the largest seafood markets in the western Japan. Inside the market are some sections, such as fresh fish section, living fish section, and dried-salted fish section, where you can enjoy fresh seafoods from all over Japan. There are also sections, such as Furusato mura which has a wide selection of vegetables from Kisyu and Toretore Ume Kobo which sells pickled ume and ume-related products. Tuna section is a must try as you can try tuna which directly comes from Nanki-Katsuura port. The fresh and flavorful tuna will definitely impress you. Toretore Ichiba is the spot where you can enjoy seafoods and Kisyu’s specialty to your heart’s content.
