Betty Smith Jeans Museum & Village

"Betty Smith Jeans Museum & Village", located in Kurashiki City, Kojima Region, Okayama prefecture. The well-established Kurashiki jeans maker, Betty Smith Co. Ltd, operates this amusement area.

The Kojima Region of Okayama Prefecture is known as the origin place of Japanese-made jeans. Betty Smith began business in 1962 as the first maker of ladies jeans in Japan. This area, created by the company that has contributed over a long period of time to the culture of Japanese-made jeans, is a must see. Inside the premises, a "Jeans Museum" and "Jeans Creation Experience Factory" that preserves and exhibits important materials related to Japanese-made jeans, as well as a showroom and outlet store where new creations are lined up, allows visitors to enjoy the experience of seeing, creating, and buying jeans. The sewing factory, where jeans have been produced since the 1960's, is famous for being the oldest jeans factory in Kojima. There is also a verdant garden with a dog park setup inside the area, great for taking a quick break from shopping by surrounding yourself with nature. Just as the name implies, the entire area is set up to appear as a small, charming village, and has many spots for taking photos.
