Nagisa Museum

"Nagisa Museum" is located in Shigetomi seashore of Aira city, Kagoshima. The facility exhibits and introduces the nature and creatures living in Kirishima Kinko-wan National Park, especially in a part of this park called "Kinkowan". The longhouse-like building stands among pine trees in the sandy beach, with the large glass windows facing to the ocean, and is blended well into the scenery around. There in this museum are the panels, models and dioramas in which you can well understand the formation process of Kinkowan created through the volcanic activity, as well as a large aquarium for the observation of creatures in tidal flats. You will have a careful observation of unique creatures which can rarely be looked at. If you have something you wonder about or want to know more, staffs to answer you are always available there. It is also popular as a spot for education and research. Various programs are available, from full-blown lectures by university professors to life survey tour for kids.
