Tove Jannson Akebono Children's Forest Park
Tove Jannson Akebono Children's Forest Park
Tove Jannson Akebono Children's Forest Park is in Hanno City, the southern part of Saitama Prefecture. It is a nature-rich park that has adopted a Scandinavian look into its aesthetic.
Opened in 1997, it is maintained to preserve a natural pond, creek, and forest in their unchanged state, for you to spend a relaxing time. The park is full of places that express the Scandinavian world. The Forest House is a museum with documents and books related to Tove Jannson, all freely available to read. There is also a cafe with a kids' space., so I recommend ordering take out for a picnic if the weather is good. On weekend evenings, the park is illuminated with a warm and soft light and you can enjoy a fantastic, different atmosphere from the day time.
