You can enjoy the Nagaoka Festival Grand Fireworks display from the riverbed of Japan’s longest river, Shinano River. Every year, on August second and third, this festival is held in the city of Nagaoka in Niigata prefecture. Over a million people gather annually from all over Japan for this spectacle. For the grand finale, an uncountable number of fireworks are set off on a span of two kilometers for five minutes.
