Lake Saiko, one of the Fuji Five Lakes, is the centermost of the five. The surrounding forest is a popular trekking spot, and is extremely rocky from the solidified lava from Mount Fuji. The forest is home to many creatures, like moles, bush warblers and bats. Rare fish species, such as the kunimasu, can be found in Lake Saiko’s waters, too.
