Ushimado Olive Garden View

Ushimado Olive Garden

Ushimado Olive Garden locates in the seaside town of Ushimado, nicknamed the “Aegean Sea of Japan”. In 1942, businessman and Okayama native Hattori Waichiro began growing olives in the Ushimado area. Today, the olive garden spreads about 10 hectares (about the size of 2 Tokyo Domes), and over 2,000 olive trees grow. On the spacious garden grounds, you can find the Roman Hill that is perfect for picnicking, the Bell of Happiness, an accommodation site and more. Visit in the fall when it is olive picking season. You can go on a olive picking tour, and try out different types of olive oils.
