Osaka Castle
Osaka Castle
Osaka Castle is located in the center of Osaka City. The construction started over 400 years ago by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a military commander in from the Sengoku era. However, the castle was destroyed twice and time passed without restoration of the castle tower . The current castle tower was restored in 1931 with donations from residents. Inside, reference materials on the Sengoku era are displayed, and the observation deck 50m above the ground can overlook the city of Osaka. Osaka Castle Park spreads in the neighborhood, and it is very popular as a cherry blossom viewing spot where about 3,000 cherry trees and about 1,270 plum trees bloom in the spring.
