Shitogo Gajumaru Park

Shitogo Gajumaru Park locates along the coastline of northeastern Yakushima. At this park, you can enjoy seeing many subtropical plants including the gajumaru, a tree that has a characteristic of growing thick roots out from its trunk.
Enter the jungle-like park, and you’ll see a gajumaru that has exceptional presence. The tree is more than 500 years old and is the main attraction of the park. There are many other tropical woods growing wildly in this garden, including the Hamabiwa with vivid yellow flowers.
