L'Orient Shirayuri Winery
L'Orient Shirayuri Winery
L’orient Shirayuri Winery, founded in 1938, locates in the town of Katsunuma in Yamanashi prefecture. From growing and picking the grapes to making the wine, L’orient Shirayuri Winery takes part in every part of the wine making process. “L’orient” in French translates “orient”, and the winery aims to make wines that are high in quality and can compete with those from Europe. At L’Orient Shirayuri Winery, you can tour the winemaking factory and the wine cellars, and later go for a tasting tour. Other activities include a grape cultivation experience, a grape stomping experience and a make-your-own-wine plan, where you can fill your own wine bottle and make your own label. Also, at the Katsunuma Glass Workshop, you can make your own wineglass, key chains and other glass items. The glass workshop is located right by the winery. (Photo credit: L’orient Shirayuri Winery)
