Megane Bridge is located in the city of Tono in central Iwate prefecture. It is an arched bridge for the JR Kamaishi Line train. Its official name is the Miyamorigawa-kyoryo, and is nicknamed Megane (glasses) Bridge, as its arches create a glasses-like sight. The JR Kamaishi Line trains are steam locomotives, and are a popular tourist ride. Megane Bridge in particular was designated as “Lover’s Sanctuary” spot in 2009, and is said to be good luck for lovers to visit. In spring, supper, and winter, the bridge is lit up. You can see the light-up until 10:00p.m.
