Nojima Fault Preservation Museum
Nojima Fault Preservation Museum
The Nojima Fault Preservation Museum, on Awaji Island of Hyogo prefecture, is a place where you can learn about the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake and emergency preparation. A piece of the fault that broke off during the earthquake is preserved at the museum. Parts of roads that were destroyed in the earthquake can be found here, too. Outside, you can find the Wall of Kobe. This wall withstood both World War II and the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake. At the experience area, there is a quake experience zone where you can experience a shake that is similar to the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake.
