Mt. Yatsugatake, spreading from south to north about 25 km and east to west about 15 km, is located in between Nagano Prefecture and Yamanashi Prefecture. This mountain is popular amongst hikers because of the variety in trails. On one side of the representative mountain, you can see the world of the quiet trees covered in moss. In addition, various sized ponds and stone ridges are spread out throughout the mountain. This is a spot oozing with the beauty of nature. The Nobeyama Plateau is a great star watching spot. The elevated, isolation of the mountains makes for a great spot to see the stars. Nearby, are facilities, such as flower and star theme park, “Flower Center Haiji-no-mura” and a hotel resort, “Risonare Yatsugatake”.
