Shuzenji Temple
Shuzenji Temple
Shuzenji Temple is said to be founded by the Buddhist Monk Kobo-Daishi in the 800s. It was given two stars on the Michelin Green Guide for its breathtaking views and deep history. The temple, located in Shizuoka prefecture, has a beautiful Japanese garden, and on the temple premise are animals such as rabbits, goats and shiba-inu dogs. The area surrounding Shuzenji is known as the “Kyoto of Izu”, and is a cute, retro hot springs town. Even if you don’t have time to go to a hot spring, you can take some time to unwind at the footbath facilities.
