View of umagase on cape hyuga

Umagase, locating on Cape Hyuga, protrudes out into the Pacific Ocean. The spot provides a refreshing view of the Pacific Ocean.

The jagged rocks making up the coastline was a result of a volcanic eruption about 15 million years ago, and are formed in a columnar joint shape. The rocky cliffs can measure up to 70 meters high and 10 meters wide, and are the largest in Japan.

The observatory space at Umagase is a rocky and narrow, and is a thrilling experience.
