"Kagawa Glove Museum" is located in Higashikagawa city in eastern Kagawa prefecture. Higashikagawa city produces 90% of Japan's domestically manufactured gloves. This museum was built to commemorate 120 years of glove production in the city. The museum's exhibits about Higashikagawa city's history of glove production, which has continued since the Meiji era, are easy to understand. From panels and exhibits of real manufacturing machines, you can learn about why glove production started in Higashikagawa city and the kinds of machines that were used in the past. Among the exhibits are gloves which were used by famous sports players. You can understand the high quality of the gloves made in Higashikagawa city from the exhibits. Also inside the building is a glove outlet store. While the store mainly sells gloves, bags and purses can be purchased too. They are perfect as a small present to yourself or for souvenirs.
