Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park

At the Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park, you can learn about the history of the Usui Pass Railway Line through exhibitions and hands-on interactive displays. The railway was a significant route of transportation connecting Gunma and Nagano from the late 1800s until the late 1900s, until the rise of the shinkansen bullet train. This railway line was the first in Japan to incorporate the rack system.
