Gongendo Tsutsumi (riverbank)

Gongendo Tsutsumi (riverbank)
Gongendo Tsutsumi (riverbank) is in Satte city, eastern Saitama Prefecture. It is part of the Gongendo Prefectural Park, located along the Nakagawa River and famous for its cherry blossoms. Gongendo Tsutumi features about 1000 cherry blossom trees lining the bank for about 1 km. When the cherry trees are in full bloom, pale pink flowers brightly blossom and create a stunning landscape. Next to the riverbank, rapeseed flowers also bloom, making a superb contrast with the cherry blossoms. Not only during the cherry blossom season is the scenery beautiful; you can also enjoy various flowers in different seasons, such as hydrangea in June and red spider lilies in September. During the season when the cherry trees are blooming, there is a cherry blossom festival. Many food stalls open in the area, attracting even more excited people than usual. During the night time the flowers are lit up to create fantastic atmosphere that is entirely different from that of daytime.
