The Nakatajima Sand Dunes locate in the city of Hamamatsu in Shizuoka prefecture. The 4 kilometer long sand dunes are one of the biggest in Japan.

The wind ripples on the sands are created by the strong northwestern winds. They create a unique design daily.

Visit in the evening for a stunning sunset on the horizon. The sunrise is beautiful as well, and many visit the Nakatajima Sand Dunes on New Years to see the first sunrise of the year here.
