Kumano Magaibutsu Stone Buddha

The Kumano Magaibutsu Stone Buddha is a work from the end of the Heian period (794 - 1185), and is a National Important Cultural Property. The statue on the left measures 8 meters tall, and the one on the right is 6.8 meters tall. Visitors must climb 99 steps up to reach these statues, and it is recommended to use a branch as a cane for support. Climb further up to reach Kumano Shrine.
