Omagari Fireworks Festival
Omagari Fireworks Festival
Omagari Fireworks Festival is well known in Japan as one of the country’s top three fireworks festivals. It is held in Akita prefecture on the riverbed of Omono River. This is the only fireworks festival in Japan that has fireworks in broad daylight. The daytime fireworks use colorful smoke and paint the summer skies in vibrant hues. The displays at night are phenomenal too, and you can see some of the works of Japan’s most talented fireworks technicians. The event is held annually on the last Saturday of August.
