Okayama Castle lies in the southern area of Okayama prefecture. Its construction was lead by general Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and was completed after eight years in 1597.
Because of its black castle keep, Okayama Castle was nicknamed “Ujo”, meaning “Crow Castle”. The keep is six stories tall, and inside is a display showing the history of the castle and its architecture.
Not only that, there is also a café inside the keep. There, you can try the Castle Parfait, while getting a great view of the city of Okayama.
