The Oga Aquarium GAO, opened in 2004, is Akita prefecture’s only aquarium. It is home to over 400 species of 10,000 sea creatures, such as the polar bear, sea lion and penguin. The aquarium is also home to many creatures native to Akita prefecture. Explore the huge tank and the tunnel to feel like you are swimming through the ocean waters. At the restaurant inside, you can enjoy dishes that are made from local ingredients.
