Kuroshima Venus Road
Kuroshima Venus Road
Kuroshima Venus Road is in Setouchi city, southeastern Okayama Prefecture. It is a 2km sand path that emerges during low tide, off the shore of Ushimado port that connects three small islands named Kuroshima, Nakanojima, and Hatanokoshima.
During low tide, a walkable sand path measuring over 800m forms in between these three islands, creating what is referred to as the "Venus Road". The Venus Road emerges in Ushimado from the beautiful ocean also called the "Japanese Aegean Sea", creating a sight fit to carry the name of the goddess Venus. On Nakano-kojima there is a heart shaped rock called Venus's heart, that is said to fulfill love for those who touch it.
The sunset view from Ushimado is chosen as one of the best 100 sunset views in Japan. If you plan your visit for sunset, the atmosphere would be very romantic!
