Shitenno-ji Temple
Shitenno-ji Temple
Shitenno-ji Temple, Japan's first Buddhist temple, is located in the eastern part of Osaka city. This temple was built in 593 by the orders of Prince Shotoku, and is still used as the main temple for the special sect of Buddhism. The "Shitenno-ji Temple Building Layout" is surrounded by a straight line of the lecture hall, main hall, five-storied pagoda, and the inner gate. This building layout is extremely valuable because of its long history. The treasure hall displays national treasures and important cultural assets. Along with the exhibition, the streets fill up with worshippers on every 21st and 22nd day of the month for fun activities.
