In the town of Takachiho in Miyazaki prefecture, the Yokagura dance ritual is held annually from late November to early February. 20 villages gather to perform the ritual to bring luck in harvest. One of the most famous numbers is the Takachiho-kagura dance. The ritual dances are all open to visitors.
