Kegon Falls

Kegon Falls
Kegon Falls locates in Tochigi prefecture’s Okunikko area, and is one of Japan’s Three Major Waterfalls. The falls measure 97 meters high, and spouts out 3 tons of water every second. Between May and June, swallows make their nests around the falls. You can see the swallows flying around the waterfalls during the summer months. The fall foliage at Kegon Falls is spectacular as well. In the winter, you can see the “blue ice” phenomenon, where the frozen falls look blue from certain angles.
