Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line
Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line
The Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line is a trolley train in Shizuoka Station, connecting Senzu Station and Ikawa Station. The railroad is surrounded by the Southern Alps. The ride is filled with spectacular sights. The train crosses the Sekinosawa Bridge, the highest steel bridge in Japan, and stops at Okuioikojo Station, a small station located right by a huge lake. Between Abt Ichishiro Station and Nagashima Damu Station is extremely steep, and this is where you can experience Japan's only rack-and-pinion railway. From Abt Ichishiro Station, you can see the rack-and-pinion railway in action. During peak tourism seasons, special observatory cars run on the Ikawa Line. On all rides, the conductor gives explanations of the sights around the Ikawa Line.
