Yakusugi Land
Yakusugi Land locates on Yakushima Island in Kagoshima prefecture. It is a forest area measuring 270 hectares, and is home to a great number of Yakusugi cedar trees. There are four hiking courses to choose from at Yakusugi Land, ranging from 30 minutes to 150 minutes. On the courses, you can find Yakusugi cedars as old as 3,000 years old. The forest locates 1,000 meters above sea level, so make sure to dress warm. There is a lot of fog and the temperatures can get low.
