The Mint (Head Office)

"The Mint" is located in the northern part of Osaka city, where 6 kinds of coins and commemorative coins currently distributed in Japan are produced. It was built in 1871 by the Meiji government who encouraged modernization, under the aim of producing equally high-quality currencies as developed countries. Inside the factory, you can see the actual producing procedure of money, moreover learn about the history of the mint through exhibits and touching real gold and silver ingots at a corner in the adjacent "Money Museum". It's a spot where you can acquire knowledge about anything related to Japan's center of money production. Also, the "Pathway of Cherry Trees" is a popular spring tradition of Osaka held every April, where over 300 cherry blossoms mainly consisting by double cherry blossoms line up in full bloom between the 560m path starting from the south gate to the north gate of the mint.
