Hiraizumi
Hiraizumi
Hiraizumi is located in the southern part of Iwate Prefecture. This temple, tea garden, and historical ruins were built with the image of the ideal afterlife world of Buddhism. If you come by Hiraizumi, why not take a look at the 5 world heritages. Recommendations inside would be the Konjiki Hall of Chusonji temple. There are 64,000 sheets of golden foil decorated inside and outside of the hall. These pieces of foil shine as the sun shine hits each piece. The Moutsuji tea garden is also a must see. This tea garden represents nirvana. Aside from these areas, other highlights include, the historic park, "Kanjizaiouinato", the temple that has been the model for Kyoto's Byoudoin, "Nuryoukouin", and many more. Enjoy a full view of the whole Hiraizumi area from Mt. Kinkei and enjoy the zen atmosphere.
