Shuri-jo Castle of Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, was home to the Ryukyu Dynasty and flourished with overseas trade. This castle is known for its bright red colors. The architectural designs and use of stone paths comes from the collaboration of Japanese and Chinese castle construction culture. In 2000, Shuri-jo Castle was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Building. The castle is split in to two areas: no fees and fees applied. In the free area, many visitors have loved the Shureimon gate, a red tiled gate, and an observatory in which you can see a complete view of Naha city. As for the paid area, the main temple with elaborate dragon designs is a must see. In the "Sasunoma" area, you can taste the different teas and snacks from the Ryukyu Kingdom era. In the past, this area was used to welcome guests and as an anteroom for the king. Come taste Okinawa's sanpin tea, or jasmine tea, and the chinsuko cookies and take in the luxurious atmosphere of the castle.
