Olive Park
Olive Park is a road station park located on Shodoshima Island in Kagawa prefecture. The spacious area is surround by over 2,000 olive trees, and measures 80,000㎡. Olive trees were first planted on Shodoshima in 1908, and since then, the island has been known for its olive production. The park is amazingly photogenic, with the ocean, mountains and even a big windmill in sight. This area is also known as where the movie “Kiki’s Delivery Service” was based on, and you can find a shop that recreates the one in the film. At the park’s café, you can try out dishes made using Shodoshima specialties, such as its olive oil. There are even accommodation facilities and hot spring baths at Olive Park, so you can enjoy the island fully.
