Genbikei Gorge

Genbikei Gorge
Genbikei Gorge is a 2-kilometer long gorge in Ichinoseki, a city in southern Iwate. The gorge was created as a result of the Inai River eroding onto the surrounding land. As a result, there are many rocks in the gorge with unique shapes. The current speed varies greatly at the top and bottom of the gorge, and gives off a different feeling at both ends. The “flying dumplings” are a must-have at Genbikei Gorge. After you order, the dumplings come flying at you from a rope on a cliff. Nearby, you can find Enbikei Gorge, which has a similar name to Genbike Gorge. You can explore Enbikei Gorge on a 90-minute boat ride.
