Mount Hachimantai

Mount Hachimantai spreads across Iwate and Akita prefectures.
There are two main roads you can take to tour the area: the Aspite Line and the Jukai Line. On these roads, you will be able to see a huge fir forest, wetlands and more. These two roads are popular driving courses.
Between late May and early June, you can witness the Hachimantai Dragon Eye. Dragon eye is a natural phenomenon that occurs at Lake Kagami, where snow on the lake melts everywhere but in the center.
The fall foliage at Mount Hachimantai is amazing as well. You can see it between late September and mid October.
