Dakigaeri Gorge
Dakigaeri Gorge locates in the city of Semboku in Akita. At the gorge, there are a series of waterfalls and valleys. One of the must-see waterfalls is Kairo Falls. The falls measure 30 meters high and the waters crash vigorously. Another sight to see is the Kami-no-iwahashi Bridge, which was made in 1926, making it Akita’s oldest bridge. You can also find Dakigaeri Shrine, which quietly sits in the gorge’s depths. Between early October and eary November, the fall foliage festival is held at Dakigaeri Gorge. During this season, the gorge is decked with colored leaves.
