Taisho Station

Taisho Station locates in the city of Obihiro in Hokkaido. The station is no longer in use, and was on the JR Hiroo Line (also no longer in use). It is the station between Kofuku and Aikoku Stations, which were popular for their lucky names (kofuku meaning happiness and aikoku meaning country of love). The station area is now used as a park. Though there station building is no longer there, there is a replica of the station platform. Throughout the park are benches designed like steam locomotive train wheels. In the summer, Kani no ie, a free accommodation lodge is open for cyclists and motorcyclists. During the fall, the Taisho May Queen Festival is held to promote may queen potatoes that are made in Hokkaido.
