Karuizawa Shaw Memorial Church

Karuizawa Shaw Memorial Church
Karuizawa Shaw Memorial Church is in Karuizawa-machi, eastern Nagano Prefecture. This church has Nagano Prefecture's longest history, and is located under a small tree covering just past the old Karuizawa Ginza Shopping Street. The church was founded by Alexander Croft Shaw, a Canadian missionary and Karuizawa pioneer, in 1895.
The low-key wooden structure is a characteristic feature of this church, which that harmonically blends with the surrounding trees. It is open all year and provides a tranquil place for visitors. It is possible to speak with the pastor by making an advance appointment.
In the church, classical and choir music concerts are held at irregular intervals. How about healing your mind while listening to the music?
