Mount Omuro

Mount Omuro
Mount Omuro rests on the Izu Plateau, and is a 580-meter mountain. It is a dormant volcano, with a 300-meter wide crater at the mountaintop. You can take a lift to the top of the mountain. On sunny, clear days, the peak of Mount Omuro offers an amazing view of Mount Fuji. The “Yama-yaki” mountain-burning event is held every February, and on that day, the entire mountain is set on fire to burn off the withered grass and leaves.
