Outside of OTEPIA

OTEPIA

”OTEPIA” is a new library complex located in Ootesuji in Kouchi City, Kouchi Prefecture. It opened July 2018, after ”Kouchi Prefecture Library” and ”Kouchi City Citizen Library (Main Building)” were renewed together. It is a complex building that has a library and a science museum inside. On the 1st floor is ”OTEPIA Kouchi Talking Book & Braille Library”, and on the 2nd to 4th floor is ”OTEPIA Kouchi Library”. The ”Kouchi MIRAI Science Museum” is located on the 5th floor, where many people from children to adults visit daily to study and learn. In the science museum, besides a planetarium, you can find 3 main areas; ”Science and Crafts of Kouchi”, ”The Nature and Creatures of Kouchi” and ”Explore Space, Earth, and Science”. There are also irregular science shows, experiments and experiences held at the museum, so it is a science museum where you can see and learn a lot. In the building, you can also find a resting place where you can eat your own food and drinks, so you can buy something at the ”Sunday Market” held in Ootesuji every Sunday, and bring it to ”OTEPIA” to enjoy.
