"SANUKI KAGARI TEMARI Hozon-kai"(SANUKI KAGARI TEMARI Preservation Association ) is located in Takamatsu-shi, Kagawa Pref. They are carrying out the activities to preserve and familiarize Kagawa's traditional handicraft "SANUKI KAGARI TEMARI".

In old days, TEMARI(decorative ball) has been produced widely all over Japan, and  a part of a dowry for the female. SANUKI KAGARI TEMARI, produced in Kagawa, is made of  white beautiful cotton which is known as one of "SANUKI SANPAKU" (Sanuki's 3 great WHITE: cotton, salt and sugar). It has a soft color tone with natural plant dying.

"SANUKI KAGARI TEMARI Hozon-kai" holds workshops for tourists in order to preserve the culture of SANUKI KAGARI TEMARI. By making reservations in advance, you can experience the actual process of daring the ball to get your own beautiful SANUKI KAGARI TEMARI. If you prefer to learn more about it, you can sign up for a 1-day experience lecture and on-site schooling.
