Otaguro Park
Otaguro Park
"Otaguro Park" is located in Suginami-ku, Tokyo. This park was created via the provision of land from the estate of music critic Moto Otaguro. The Japanese Garden at the park was created to reflect the ups and downs in the ground found in the Ogikubo area. At the center of the garden is a pond encircled by a stone path. The pond's water flows from the courtyard in the garden teahouse via a well crib, using the "flow" of the ups and downs of the land to fill the pond. Alongside the sukiya tea house and resting room located inside the garden, stands the brick building that Mr. Otaguro used as his work space is preserved as a memorial hall. Mr. Otaguro's beloved piano and gramophone are left untouched inside the western-style memorial hall. With the coming of the fall colors, the park will be lit up from the last third of the month of November. Come Otaguro Park at night to experience magic that cannot be found in the daytime.
