Yokozuna Shinsekai Honkan
Yokozuna Shinsekai Honkan
Yokozuna Shinsekai-honkan is a restaurant in Osaka’s downtown area of Shinsekai - in the city’s south - that specializes in kushikatsu, or deep-fried breaded skewers. Shinsekai is said to be the birthplace of kushikatsu skewers, and attracts many diners every day. Yokozuna Shinsekai’s kushikatsu is famous for its fluffy texture that is best enjoyed with the restaurant’s homemade sauce. Besides kushikatsu, the restaurant serves Osaka’s famous “dote-yaki,” or beef tendon simmered in miso soybean paste. Dote-yaki matured overnight pairs well with sake.
The restaurant has Japanese style low tables, which are popular with families with children. Counter and table seating are also available, making it an ideal dining spot for all occasions.
