Sansui Kan Kawayu Midori-ya
Sansui Kan Kawayu Midori-ya
Sansui-kan Kawayu Midoriya is a traditional ryokan hotel in Tanabe city, in southern Wakayama. The hotel stands amidst the mountainous region of Kumano along the Ohto river, where visitors can dig up their own hot spring bath. Kawayu Midoriya has its own hot spring source, and boasts an open-air bath right on the riverbank -- the only such bath found in the Kawayu onsen resort. The hotel has a variety of both traditional Japanese and western style rooms. The larger rooms can accommodate group travelers. The hotel is a wonderful place to wind down and admire Kumano's vast nature from the comfort of one's room. The hotel also serves as a base for hikes along the Kumano pilgrimage route. The hotel runs a free shuttle service to the route, which is listed as a World Heritage site.
