Tokaku-ji Temple
Tokaku-ji Temple
"Tokaku-ji" is located in Kita-ku, Tokyo. It is a temple of the Shingon sect Buzan school. The main god is Fudo Myo-ou, and in addition to the main hall, there is a shrine in front of the gate called "Meio-do". Tokaku-ji is also known as a spiritual spot for recovery. In front of Meio-do, there are two "Akagami Niohson" covered with red paper, both built in 1641. It is believed that pasting a red paper on the statue, in the same place where your body is ill, your body will be cured. There is no end to worshippers that visit the temple wanting to put their own red papers on the statues. Tokaku-ji Temple is also the temple that enshrines the Fukuroku-ju of "Yanaka Shichifukujin", which is said to be "the oldest pilgrimage route of the Shichifukujin -- Seven Lucky Gods -- in Edo". During the 10 days from January 1 to 10, when the Seven Lucky Gods tour is held every year, a statue of Fukuroku-ju is shown in the main hall.
